AT THE CROSSROADS: To Head Forward or Turn Back?

Laying both my foot at a career crossroads can be very much frightening as to which of my foot should go first. A crossroad indeed, with all the roads intersecting and the other choices scattering around that make me ask and ponder if I better step on my front foot first and work my next career move or just stick on my back foot and wait for the right move. I worry more making the wrong decision than letting go of something that I could regret totally.

But there should be a move. Even though I step back; that is still considered a move.

So what I did? It is pretty obvious. And I thought you already have the idea even from the start of this post ranting about making wrong decisions and stepping back. But I am afraid you did not get it. The story...

I have received a great job opportunity. I have spoken enough for that post and I need not repeat or speak of it anymore nor explain for why I gave a NO for that.

Right now, I just want to be vague and forget about the specifics and the details. I don’t want to talk things that are yet to happen or if it would ever happen. I have come to a conclusion that things are better be hidden and kept within than shouted to the whole world but neither even happens nor close to happening.

Wouldn’t it be more exciting when you give your life a little mystery leaving people clueless? Then, just one day, they’ll be surprised of the shocking news that you already got a job?

Nah! That’s a clue... Whatever! I’ll leave you with that.

Till my next post=)

A Different Shoterday!

It was a long time ago when I already dropped the sessions for drinking and the only drinks that had preoccupied my weekends for the past few days were just mere occasional shots and events purposes. But just last Saturday, I had a different shot. Different because it was not I who had it instead I was the one who gave it to 59 persons all in all. It was the flue vaccine shot. I was tasked to inject it to all the employees and their families on the list.

And for a couple of days or months from now already was I not been in a hospital and and practicing my nursing skills, my fingers was obviously shaking paired up with my heart beating fast. I did my very best not to show it or else I'll end up to be an incompetent one. In the end I managed to give shots to a handful of persons and the rest will be today since not everybody on the list was present during that day.

I was disappointed I was not able to have a picture with myself but I'll manage to take one for today.

Waiting for the Call!

Two days turned a week and then what? month? Never will I allow that. A week is the most possible thing I could let pass for this blog to remain dormant. I was busy the whole week waiting for the call or signal but then, I think I should give another week to wait for it. It was actually about my applications to writing. Writing is the easiest ticket to earnings. I already got a job but not enough to support my desires to travel.(hehe) So, writing is the least thing I could do to quadruple the digits, my salary with my current job plus the future writing job. What's more, I received a reply from a position of Travel writer.

For the meantime, I was contented with the outfit I put together for the highwaist trouser shorts I had bought from a sale at Robinsons and being in a generous mode to share it would bring justice to the contentment.hihi From 900 discounted to 150php. Lucky me, to perfectly find my size.

High waist shorts crop top

I look like a "negra" here and I blame it to the cam.haha Well, at least I get to see my 3/4 body portrait. I definitely need a hair fix then everything. Soon, I find time for all these.=)

Nurse Avenue: The Angel Wears Prada

That long walkway at the Nurse Avenue and I thought I never gonna walk my way through it again.

Who could ever thought in a day like Friday when all the people are out doing their thing, making a memorable "Last Friday night" and so does I, waiting at a coffee shop for my accomplices for the month's SMB Oktoberfest, a text message would arrive reminding me that "hey, nurse you're up for volunteering again."

I almost forgot about that "nurse" part, receiving a salary by just staying at home was just as good as working outside with the same salary but have tons of expenses, like fare and food and better than volunteering with no salary at all.

You know what the best part is? Doing those at the same time. I mean, I now have a work so what's the problem with volunteering when at long last, I have money to support it. So brace everyone as I walk that Nurse Avenue again wearing Prada. I am no devil because I have this halo turns visible every time I enter the hospital. So I entitle this post as "Nurse Avenue: The Angel Wears Prada".

God is the best Pilot

Delayed flight of salary, period of financial turmoil, what else, gusty winds of cold state-of-no-money but I remain deep seated in my very own kind of class seat may it be business class or what (but I more call it as personal*wink*) for I believe that the Pilot always knows the best and He is God. Indeed, everything happens for a reason and if without such circumstances then I would not even catch a glance of my salary because of my impulsiveness during "many-money" times. Then, just recently an upcoming event is about to happen for a cost. A sign I should take by heart and a more deserving thing for my money.

Just for a thought!

The 170 bucks traveling Nurse

I am oozing with "sayang" and "pagsisi" that I did not even mind searching for the right terms and its translation in English. Yes, I am in the out-of-field-of-nursing-work right now but I have no darn intention of forgetting the real me, of being a nurse. I know life is a funny person who just tries to make fun of nursing and show the not-so-good part of it and I am in no way allow myself to be trapped with it because surely deep inside it is just a big fat joke (as what I have said life is a funny person). And the real culprit of this whole thing is the one thing that I was not able to join the volunteers in a particular place for this month's batch. I know I was not really been good with the past hospital of my previous volunteer work of not completing my 400 hours but do I have any choice. Now tell me what choice will you get if there is a job there offering you a salary? Don't even dare speak if it is a "yes I will still continue my volunteer work" because you will be just another nurse added among those who say "I took up nursing to serve the sick." Let's take this in a business-way, we serve the sick people and I want to go abroad. Now that's what a real nurse is in other words it is called "ROI - Return of Investment." You invest your hardwork, time and commitment with money.

So, I did some interrogation and questioning in case I get update for the next batch. And I come to silence with the 170 bucks of budget per week. Just enough information I need for my obstreperous blog post (sorry for that).

I now raise my white flag as my sign of surrender for the day's blog posting.

Take care everyone.

Sincerely,

A Dharma Bum Calling

I lay quietly on my green geometric design sheets of my bed thinking with the weird noise coming from my laptop trying to destroy my mood of writing another blog. I am not actually bothered with it. I am more worried of the thoughts rumbling in my mind and if any seconds these will not come out I'll be suffering of a terribly "pagsisi headache". How worried I am? Truly since I discontinued my work tasks with utmost confidence and guts that had I been a bystander in blogger for about hours now sightseeing or I guess "sightimagining" what is inside my mind. I got a few of good finds though 2 posts published and this of becoming the third. I'll be lying if I admit that I am always in the mood of writing because mostly, I forcefully moodify myself. The hungriness of my hands to type dozens of ideas and words are not just destined or paired up with the right and fully fed up mind of mine. But I take credit of my desires, goals and dreams of being one someday. Have I mentioned that I love reading books? I guess not because of the same reasons I forcefully moodify myself. So what is then these desires, goals and dreams? Easy as a seven-letter-word "popular" or hard as an eleven-letter-word "familiarity" but medium because I take both. The easiness and hardness there is based from the number of words and I just got you. Popular and familiarity in a sense that I'll be known for what I make and not just do is what I am desiring, goaling and dreaming about. It's myself who is making this thing and I want someone else to read it. I remember the first episode of GG season 5 when Chuck Bass said, "I don't write books, I am read about." Well, I want both and the credit of course of writing it. Thus, my dharma bum calling. I just ain't consistent enough with most things bumming my dharmas.

Sincerely,

A Letter to Pedring!

I am in the midst of confusion if I am supposed to be laughing at this picture though it does look hilarious but this funny picture had surely ended a lot of lives. And there is no other to blame but Pedring. So I wrote a letter hoping that he could read this.

Then, here is the english translation:
Dear Pedring. I know life is never this easy and difficulties always remain inevitable that even being a farmer is not enough to supply all of your daily needs. However, every problem has always its own solution. That is why I am in a moment of shock as to why in such a little time you have turned into something else, a monster. A monster that have killed a lot of innocent lives, destroying not only houses but our true home, Mother Earth. What is really the matter?

Oh. Did anybody forget to tell me that Pedring is actually a name of the storm? Yeah but just after I had finished making the letter with a special English translation because all I thought he was a farmer turned into a killer in the loose (joke only, of course I know).

With the recent statistics, Pedring' deaths has reached 21; 35 still missing (so sad).

But these pictures below have totally caught my attention that no matter how difficult situations are, there is always a Filipino heart in each one of us ready to help others and having that little smile on our face.

Sincerely,

About Me

My photo
But all of them rang true, and reminded me of why I travel: to learn and grow, to challenge myself, stretch my limits and foster an appreciation of both the world at large and the chair waiting in front of the woodstove back home.
